Glantane East Wedge Tomb

This is a tomb that me and Rob visited back in the Islander Trip in May in that Megalithic rich area between Macroom, Millstreet and Mallow. Was a day that the rain never stopped but the mist added to the atmosphere of these places, think that was the trip where we found the most amount of sites, the area is just littered with the stuff. We are actually heading back to that area in the September trip, a time for some of ye Islanders come check it out for yerselves!

The above site is called Glantane East and is just one monument in a larger megalithic complex with a stone circle and stone pair, that was one of the three such complexes we found. Pretty impressive stuff. If you want to know about the above site I did a little writeup about it on my own blog:

  5. @Ruth Im glad to hear you say that, It was my main aim in this piece to capture that light rain misty Irish thingy. Glad to hear it was successful. And I love my trees, luckily they had restraining orders otherwise it would have been HUGGING TIME!

@Rob Thanks man! Couldnt have done it without u and the trips without a doubt. Was great to get the chance to see all these places, think the feeling of these places does help in their creation

  6. Wow this is beautifully composed. I love the ethereal quality of the background contrasted with the solidness of the stones. Well done JG!
