Plein air drawing

Here's a quick plein air sketch done from the top of Ummera woods
at Coolacareen beyond Carrigadrohid on the road to Macroom.
Though not very accessible and a bit of a steep climb it's worth it for
the views. There's plenty to draw and paint in this area with the view
extending from the floodwater behind the dam at Carrigadrohid right back
to the lakes of the Gearagh. The sketch above was done using a medium
grade oil pitt which I find the best when traveling light as all tones can be
achieved with just one pen.

  1. Nice man! Great values to it, especially always enjoy your foilage renderings. Is that accross from Farran woods? Looks like a nice spot!
